Reverse Osmosis System Plumbing

Reverse Osmosis (RO)

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is the process where potable civic water, is forced through a semi-permeable membrane, which removes unwanted substances such as salt, lead arsenic, nitrates, giardia, pharmaceuticals, and cryptosporidium cysts.

These unwanted substances are simply washed away by the system, which produces clear, fresh tasting water.  Reverse Osmosis is the most effective technology known for the improvement of drinking water today and is a far better choice than any other water purification option!

Reverse Osmosis Systems

A Reverse Osmosis (RO) system is an affordable and effective, point-of-use water purification system that enables you and your family to have an unlimited supply of clean, clear, and contaminant free drinking water.

The system is comprised or one or more pre-filters, a reverse osmosis module, post filter, storage tank and a dedicated RO faucet.

Reverse Osmosis System Services

We have extensive experience installing, repairing, and maintaining various types and brands of reverse osmosis systems.  We are not in the retail RO system business but can assist in the decision process that determines which system and brand is best for a particular application.

Installation Services

Our installation services are designed around the customer selecting the RO system, and GPS Plumbing providing the installation.  We have extensive experience installing various types, sizes, and brands of reverse osmosis systems.

The installation process is as follows:

  • An installation date and time is set
  • We will arrive on time with all the required tools and parts required for the installation (Note: you can purchase the RO System in advance or we can – it is your choice)
  • We turn off the cold water underneath the sink
  • We connect the RO system to the cold water supply and the drain
  • We install the RO faucet that requires a hole in your sink/counter top large enough to accommodate the spigot/faucet.  The spigot hole options are: 1] drill a new hole in the sink, 2] reuse an existing hole, 3] remove a soap dispenser and reuse that hole.  (Note that we do not drill any holes in granite, marble, soapstone, Formica, or a few other materials – a third party can perform this task.)
  • We test the system and clean up the area
  • You enjoy clean and pure water right from your tap at a fraction of the cost of bottled water

Repair Services

The most common problem associated with a RO system is that they occasionally leak.  If you notice water in and around the RO system, it is an indication that the system may be or is leaking.

Any water leak has the potential to do significant damage, so it is best to have it fixed quickly to mitigate damage.  Call us and we will diagnose the problem if there is one and provide a solution.  We are highly experienced and will find the leak and fix it fast.

Maintenance Services

The RO filter requires periodic replacement to ensure the quality of the water.  Changes in the smell, color, and taste of the RO produced water normally indicate that a filter replacement is due.

Contact us when you notice any or all of these signs to schedule a service call to replace the filters.  To ensure the continued quality of the water, we highly recommend that the filter replacements be consistent with manufacturer recommendations.  We can, at your convenience; schedule periodic filter replacements to optimize RO system performance.
